Client brief
The client sought to optimise their warehouse operations by creating additional space to support a dedicated picking and packing function. Their distribution centre, located in Lowfield Heath near Gatwick, serves as a key logistics hub, centralising the distribution of products to retail locations across the UK.
Strategically positioned near major transport links, the facility operates 24/7, 365 days a year, ensuring that stores remain fully stocked with a wide range of goods including luxury items, cosmetics, fragrances, alcohol, and tobacco.
our solution
Following a successful tender submission, we designed, supplied, and installed a sizable 937m² mezzanine floor, complete with one-hour fire protection to the underside. This included cavity barriers to ensure full compliance with Building Control regulations.
the result
The mezzanine was successfully installed within the designated two-week project timeline, with minimal disruption to ongoing operations. A further two weeks were allocated to complete the one-hour fire protection installation.
The facility now benefits from an additional 10,000 sq. ft of storage capacity, allowing for increased inventory without impacting ground-floor activities.
