Approved Document B – Fire Safety
This regulation covers all fire protection measures needed to slow the spread of fire and maintain structural integrity long enough to allow safe exit by employees and entry to firefighters in the event of a fire.
Approved Document K – Protection from falling, collision and impact
This regulation covers protection from falling, collision and impact and includes designing staircases, guarding, gates & handrails around all types of buildings.
We will design and install all handrails, stairs and pallet gates to be as safe as possible, as such all exposed edges of the mezzanine floor will incorporate hand & knee rails.
Approved Document M – Access To and Use of Buildings:
This regulation ensures that everyone of all abilities should be able to use your premises. It ranges from corridors/staircase to Door widths, to heights of sockets & switches.

Your local authority will approve your application and conduct site inspections to make sure your mezzanine floor is compliant with the latest legislation.
It depends on the size and complexity of the project. As a rule of thumb, we advise a six/seven week lead time from order. This allows us one/ two weeks to survey the area and produce working drawings for approval and a further four weeks to manufacture and deliver to site.
